CHANGE

A LOT of things have changed in the past couple months for us.  It's been a whirlwind!

1.  The husband went off active duty in Janurary.

2.  We moved from Killeen to DFW and he started his new career with Pepsico.

3.  We bought another house, hoping to be here for the long haul.

4.  We decided when we pulled our kids from school to move that that would start the beginning of our HOMESCHOOL journey.  Yep, we are going to be "those" people!  And we are excited about it!

5.  I shaved my head! Yes, you read right, I really did shave my head.  More about that soon! For now if you are interested in why, you can go here:  www.shearhope.org

So, that's what has been going on around here!

Rate Race

Are we all just running a rat race? I think I tend to run the rat race much more than I would like or even God would like.

We get caught up in what we think we "should" be doing over what God wants us doing. Like, spending way too much time on pinterest thinking about things we want to do, want to have, instead of being grateful for what we do have. The kids are going to remember you spending time with them, not the dreams you had about the way you want your bedroom to look. I can be very guilty of this. Then if you are not careful you get sucked in and have spent so much time on there you can't get other things done. I want my kids and husband to remember me loving them, spending time with them, and caring for them. I don't want them to remember me trying to keep up with things that aren't even possible. So don't get me wrong, I do love the inspiration from Pinterest, but I think it can be the keep is "busy" when it's not necessary. Pinterest is truly just my example here, this can go for any number of things.

Like the saying goes, "If the devil can't make you bad, he'll make you busy." I will most definitely be trying to not be too busy for the most important people and things in my life. How about you?

Bald..

It's not something you see on a young, healthy mother very often. But it will be used to describe me, here very soon. I am going to SHAVE my head completely bald, for an awesome cause. It's called Shear Hope, it's a foundation that raises money for families dealing with cancer and helps the financial burden that cancer can bring. Also, all of my hair will be donated to make a wig or someone through Locks of Love. And what it also does is gives hope to them and others. When I shave my head I am saying, "It's not what's on the outside that makes you beautiful, it's the light on the inside." I hope that I can teach my daughter what true beauty is, not what the society tells her it is. When I saw this, I just knew that it was something I HAD to do. It was just something that happened in me. If God could sled his son to die and suffer on the cross for my salvation, surely I can shave my head, right? Absolutely! Check it out. I am super excited!
